Although Nghi Son 2 BOT TPP is under building, Nghi Son 2 LLC has still been implementing the Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) for the community, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.

Over the past 2 years, Nghi Son 2 Power Limited LLC (NS2PC - invested by Kepco (Korea), Marubeni and Tohuku (Japan) has actively coordinated with localities to improve the social economics and sanitation environment for local communities in Hai Ha commune, Hai Thuong ward, Tinh Hai ward, Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province.

Joining in hands to make the community cleaner

NS2PC has sponsored to install clean water pipeline for local people of more than 2,000 households, cleaned residential areas, and trained to make organic fertilizer from kitchen waste and agricultural waste; provided medical equipment for clinics, health checks for women and the elderly; delivered the equipment and toys for kindergartens and elementary schools; awarded scholarships to 150 students in difficult circumstances; repaired and upgraded cultural houses and sports areas; delivered the gifts to disadvantaged households during holidays and Lunar New Year.

"Total tax collection in Hai Ha commune is more than 100 million VND/year, so the practical support of NS2PC is valuable for poor communes like Hai Ha commune," Mr. Tran Binh Thuan, Chairman of Hai Ha Commune People's Committee shared.

Talking about NS2PC's CSR for the community, Mr. Park Hee Young, EVP of NS2PC said: "The NS2PC CSR program is a long-term program for supporting the socio-economic development, improving the sanitation in residential areas. In addition, faced with the terrible devastation caused by storms and floods in the Vietnam Central provinces, NS2PC donated 300 million VND for victims in the Vietnam Central Region affected by storms and floods, contributing to providing mental and material encouragement for people to overcome difficulties".

Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Ha commune, Nghi Son town, acknowledged the valuable contributions of Nghi Son 2 LLC to the community, emphasized: " Vietnamese people appreciate the spirit of sharing “a slice of bread when hungry is worth a whole loaf when full”, so NS2PC actively supports the local community while having no revenue, which demonstrated the corporate social responsibility together with the local community to build the image of "trusted partners, responsible neighbors".
