Efficiency from organic farming practice models
“Every time I go to the market, I often see that vegetables grown by organic methods are always more expensive and better-seller than other vegetables. This is a good, practical, easy and effective approach. NS2PC is requested to continue supporting to expand the model to residential groups in the ward. On November 15, 2023, Nghi Son 2 Power Company Limited (NS2PC), Hong Duc University, Hai Thuong Ward and Lien Vinh Village (Tinh Hai Ward) have organized a review of the training of making biological inoculant to deodorize barns, septic tank and making compost from household waste and locally available materials under the sponsorship of NS2PC and the technical guidance of Hong Duc University.
In recent years, NS2PC has organized training and practice classes for nearly 100 households to make biological products to deodorize barns and make organic fertilizers from kitchen waste; Make biological pesticides from locally available materials.
During this training session from March 2023, NS2PC has organized a training to guide and practice making biological inoculant to deodorize barns and septic tanks, make fish protein and organic fertilizer for 15 households at Lien Trung village, Hai Thuong ward; Instruct 30 households at Lien Dinh village, Hai Thuong ward and Lien Vinh, Tinh Hai ward to make biological inoculant from rice bran to deodorize barns and make organic fertilizer from kitchen waste.
At a Review Ceremony, NS2PC and Hong Duc University awarded certificates to 45 students who successfully completed theoretical content and practical application in household gardens. According to the inspection, 100% of trained households are currently applying waste classification and making biological inoculant and organic fertilizers from kitchen waste. "Segregating waste and making biological inoculant and organic fertilizers from kitchen waste and locally available materials is easy, effective, and saves the cost of buying chemical fertilizers that are not safe." Mr. Tran Van Bai, Lien Trung village, Hai Thuong ward, shared at the ceremony.
To support waste classification at source, NS2PC supported 400 two-compartment trash bins to classify organic and inorganic waste in the kitchen in 2023.
Environmental protection is one of the important strategy of the NS2PC’s Social Responsibility Program. In recent years, NS2PC has supported 1,598 trash bins for households, 30 garbage trucks, and 1 specialized vehicle to watering the roads and trees; installed the clean water pipeline for 3,296 households in Hai Ha commune and Hai Thuong ward, currently 100% of households in Hai Ha commune use clean water. In addition to the environmental protection, NS2PC has supported the medical and educational equipment, and renovated the cultural houses in Hai Ha commune, Hai Thuong ward, Tinh Hai ward, total worth more than 1 million USD in the period (2019 - 2023).
