NS2PC: Transfer 500kV NS2PC Switchyard to EVNNPT.

On December 11, 2023, Mr. Choi Chung Kook, a CEO of NS2PC signed the Tranfer Agreement the 500 kV NS2PC Switchyard to the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) for management and operation.

“This is the first time EVNNPT has received the 500 kV Switchyard of BOT Thermal Power Plant projects for operational management. Mr. Pham Le Phu, a CEO of EVNNPT said.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Choi Chung Kook acknowledged and thanked EVNNPT for its responsible cooperation in recent times, supporting NS2PC to well implement the BOT Thermal Power Project assigned by the Government of Vietnam. He believes that the cooperation between NS2PC and EVNNPT will continue to develop to new heights in future. CEO of NS2PC commits to direct NS2PC functional departments to soon complete the necessary procedures and documents to hand over the boundaries and assets on the 500 kV Switchyard to EVNNPT according to the Minutes transfer signed by both parties.

Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Project worth nearly 2.8 billion USD is the second largest project in Thanh Hoa province invested by NS2PC (Jointed Venture Company by Korea Electric Power Corporation (50%); Marubeni Corporation (40%) and Tohoku Electric Power Company, Japan (10%).

NS2PC was established in 2014 to build Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant from 2018 to 2022, with a net capacity of 1,200 MW, producing 7.8 billion kwh per year, supplying electricity for over 6 million households; After 25 years of operation, NS2PC will hand over the plant to Viet Nam Electricity.
