EVP/PGM of NS2PC received the delegation of Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade

On April 24, 2024, EVP/PGM of NS2PC - Director of Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, Mr. Michael W. Savidge received the Delegation of Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade, headed by Mr. Tran Luong, head of the Power BOT Investment Management Department.

On behalf of the NS2PC’s Board of Directors, Mr. Michael W. Savidge thanked Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy in particular; EVN, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in general for their support, responsible cooperation, and timely resolution of arising problems during the construction period of Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant from 2018 - 2022 and the current operating period, which is greatly contributing to helping NS2PC build and operate the Plant on schedule, safely and effectively.

After listening to NS2PC's report on its operations and visiting Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, Mr. Tran Luong highly appreciated NS2PC's results in contributing to ensure national energy security, environmental protection, and support the socio-economic development community, improve the residential environmental sanitation through the NS2PC Corporate Social Responsibility Program.

Mr. Luong reminded that NS2PC continues to closely follow the documents of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade such as: Decision No. 1696/QD-TTg dated September 23, 2014, Decision No. 452/QD-TTg,Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated March 26, 2021 of  of the Prime Minister; Decision 1818/QD-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade .... to operate the Factory well and protect the environment.

In the upcoming summer, electricity consumption will increase dramatically, NS2PC should have a necessary preparedness to produce enough electricity as committed to EVN, contributing to ensuring national energy security. He emphasized.

NS2PC was born in 2014 to build Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant from 2018 - 2022, worthnearly 2.8 billion USD due Korean Electric Power Corporation KEPCO (50%) and Marubeni Group (40%), Tohoku Electric Power Company (10%), Japan invested. The plant has a net capacity of 1,200 MW, an output of 7.8 billion kWh per year, providing electricity to more than 6 million households; After 25 years of operation, NS2PC will hand over the plant to EVN for continued operation.

Over the past 5 years, NS2PC has supported the local community in socio-economic development - environmental protection worth more than 28 billion VND.
