NS2PC Executive Vice President: “When a fire breaks out, the flames do not distinguish between rich and poor.”

Thanh Hoa, October 24, 2024 — The People’s Committee and Police of Hai Binh Ward, in collaboration with Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Team No. 2 under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fire and Rescue Police Department, held a Fire Prevention and Firefighting Training and Drill Ceremony.
During the event, 450 fire extinguishers were presented to the Lien Vinh residential group, sponsored by Nghi Son 2 Power Limited Liability Company (NS2PC).

In his remarks, Mr. Michael W. Savidge, Vice Executive President of NS2PC and Plant General Manager of Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, highlighted the importance of proactive fire safety:

“When a fire breaks out, the flames do not distinguish between the rich and the poor, nor do they recognize borders; they will consume everything if we fail to take preventive action. To ensure effective fire prevention and control, alongside the ‘four-on-the-spot’ principle, every citizen must act as a firefighter — protecting themselves, their property, and their community.”

Mr. Michael delivers fire extinguishers to Lien Vinh villagers

Representing local authorities, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hai Binh Ward People’s Committee, expressed appreciation for NS2PC’s continued contribution to community development and local fire safety initiatives.

“The fire extinguishers donated today, together with the essential knowledge and practical skills shared, form a vital first line of defense — empowering residents to act swiftly and effectively in the event of a fire,” Mr. Dung emphasized.

Over the past two years, NS2PC has partnered with Hai Binh Ward and Nghi Son Ward to establish 56 public firefighting points and 24 inter-household firefighting teams, donating a total of 980 fire extinguishers to local communities.
Thanks to these initiatives, residents have learned how to properly use fire extinguishers at home and in public areas, successfully extinguishing several small fires, including incidents at Lien Vinh Market and an electrical short circuit in Bac Hai residential group, Nghi Son Ward in recent months.
