Nghi Son: In the Year of the Horse, Galloping Forward to Reach the Finish Line Ahead

“Nghi Son Ward: In the Year of the Horse, galloping forward to reach the finish line ahead” – this was the New Year wishing delivered by Mr. Michael W. Savidge, Executive Vice President of NS2PC and Plant General Manager of Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant, at the Tet gift-giving ceremony for the poor, policy beneficiary families, and households in especially difficult circumstances.

The event was organized by the People’s Committee of Nghi Son Ward, with gifts sponsored by Nghi Son Cement Company, VAS Nghi Son Group Joint Stock Company, Agribank Nghi Son Nam Thanh Hoa Branch, Northern Vegetable Oil Company, Long Mo Minh Tuong Pagoda, and NS2PC. The ceremony took place on February 10, 2026.

Unable to hide his joy, Mr. Michael shared his memorable experiences and deep impressions of the unique cultural beauty of Vietnamese Tet.

“As a foreigner working in Vietnam, I feel fortunate to experience so many indescribable emotions whenever Tet arrives and Spring comes: people are bustling with activity, colorful flags and flowers fill the streets, and neighborhoods joyfully welcome family members returning home – it is truly unfortunate for those who have never witnessed such a scene,” he shared.

“As a neighbor and a responsible member of the Nghi Son ward community, NS2PC in particular, and companies and organizations in general, always devote their care and affection to supporting families in need, contributing to the shared joy of the community as Tet and Spring return – a season of love and reunion,” Mr. Michael emphasized.

On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to local residents for warmly receiving the small gifts from NS2PC and other sponsoring units. He also highly appreciated the leadership of Nghi Son Ward for creating opportunities for himself, NS2PC, and local enterprises to join hands in supporting the community.

Representing the local government and people, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nghi Son Ward, acknowledged and commended the generous contributions of businesses and benefactors.

“The presence of our distinguished guests today not only brings practical gifts, but also spreads a profound message of solidarity and compassion, reflecting the Vietnamese spirit of mutual support and ‘sharing the burden with those in hardship.’ Your care has brought warmth and encouragement to disadvantaged families as Tet and Spring approach.”

He further stressed that the collective efforts of enterprises and organizations not only contribute to effective social welfare work and improved living conditions for residents, but also clearly demonstrate  Corporate Social Responsibility and strengthen the bond among: businesses, local authorities, and the community.

At the ceremony, Mr. Michael, on behalf of NS2PC, presented 180 gift packages to 180 disadvantaged households in Nghi Son Ward.

Previously, on February 9, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, General Administrative Manager of NS2PC, represented the company in presenting 35 gift packages to 35 disadvantaged households in Lien Vinh village, Hai Binh Ward.

Each gift package was valued at VND 500,000, including VND 300,000 in cash and a gift bag worth VND 200,000.
