NS2PC Successfully Conducts Firefighting and Rescue Drill at Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant

Thanh Hoa, September 19, 2025 – NS2PC, in collaboration with the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department of Thanh Hoa Province, successfully carried out a comprehensive firefighting and rescue drill at the Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant.

The exercise formed part of NS2PC’s core safety mission and was designed to simulate emergency scenarios, strengthen coordination, enhance practical skills, and draw valuable lessons in line with the “four on-the-spot” principle of fire prevention and rescue.

The drill scenario commenced with a simulated small fire in the plant’s plastic regeneration room, which immediately triggered the fire alarm system. Internal firefighting forces responded swiftly; however, due to hot weather conditions and strong winds, the fire quickly escalated. NS2PC promptly issued an emergency call to the provincial Fire Police, who arrived on site and deployed effective suppression measures. Within 30 minutes of coordinated efforts, the fire was completely extinguished and simulated victims were safely evacuated and transported to a local hospital.

At the closing session, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Head of Team 7, Regional Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Team 2, commended the professional collaboration between the two forces:

“Real-life fire incidents are unpredictable and often complex. Each drill provides invaluable experience for improving our readiness and effectiveness in fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue operations.”

Speaking on behalf of NS2PC, Mr. Le Hoang Long, Deputy Director of Safety – Health – Environment and Quality Management, expressed his appreciation for the support from the provincial Fire Police:

“This complex drill offered our internal firefighting and rescue teams a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience, thereby enhancing their capabilities to respond to unexpected situations in the future.”

NS2PC places the highest priority on fire prevention and rescue as a central component of its operations. Beyond equipping the plant in strict compliance with the Law on Fire Prevention and Rescue and organizing regular on-site drills, the company also actively supports the local community by installing hundreds of public fire safety points and donating thousands of fire extinguishers to households.
