On March 28th, 2025, Nghi Son 2 Power Limited Liability Company (NS2PC) held the Inauguration Ceremony of Rooftop Solar Power Project with capacity of (518 kWp), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) (1,152 kWh) and a microgrid control system at NS2PC's Housing complex.

On behalf of NS2PC, Mr. Chung Kook Choi thanked the timely and responsible support of the authorities at all levels, efforts and determination of engineers and workers of NS2PC, and commitment and efficiency of the contractor to implement the project successfully.
“This project is not only an investment in renewable energy but also a clear demonstration of NS2PC’s commitment to sustainable development, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of net zero emissions by 2050 that the Vietnamese Government committed to at COP 26,” Mr. Chung Kook Choi emphasized.

At the ceremony, Mr. Mai Xuan Liem, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of NS2PC to energy security in particular and the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa province in general.
“Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee always welcomes investors to install advanced rooftop solar systems with storage batteries, using modern technology to optimize the use of solar energy. This installation of NS2PC is consistent with Vietnam's policies and guidelines for a sustainable future, Vietnam's orientation on developing green energy and reducing carbon emissions and align with commitment of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the COP26 Conference held in the UK: Committing to reduce net emissions to zero by 2050, reducing methane emissions causing the greenhouse effect by 30% by 2030.
Thanh Hoa province has over 613 rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of about 59.77 MW installed, currently operating stably. NS2PC's Rooftop Solar Power Project is the first solar power system integrated with storage batteries in Thanh Hoa province," Mr. Liem spoke.

Previously, from 2018 to 2022, Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant was built which is worth nearly 2.8 billion USD, using supercritical technology, increasing fuel combustion efficiency, reducing emissions, with a net capacity of 1,200 MW, output of 7.8 billion kWh per year, supplying electricity to more than 6 million households; after 25 years of operation, NS2PC will hand over the Plant to EVN for continued operation.
